Police investigation showed no forced entry. They discovered signs of struggle, including wood gouged by a blade. Witnesses reported no other unusual activity that evening. | |||
As the police force is currently stretched thin by prohibition, you have been brought on to supplement the investigation. | |||
There are no suspects at this time, though many have motive. | |||
Mr. Kincaid has many political rivals. Chief among them is Todd Warrensburg, a wealthy businessman heavily invested in real estate. They've competed for years, but it's never been this personal. | |||
The Gambino family is profiting from Mr. Kincaid's support of prohibition, despite his efforts to crack down on them. Perhaps they're sending a message. | |||
The O'Donnell brothers are another matter entirely. Kidnapping is right up their alley, so we may hear from them soon. They also have ties to the Baxter Hicks gang who hold a grudge with the governor. | |||
Really, it could be anybody. We don't have any good leads. Heck, it could even be the carpenter, though for her sake I pray that's not the case. | |||
The governor has assured me that you'll be well compensated for your efforts. If you bring her home safe, he'll be in your debt. | |||
